How to do a Spring Cleanse & Rejuvenate Body & Mind
The winter months are coming to a close. We can feel it in the density of the air, in the energy of the animals, and in the light that now continues to seep through our windows well into the afternoon. With the spring comes the natural inclination to purge, eliminate, and clear out. All of the sudden so many of us are overcome with this need to get all the junk out and focus on rejuivinating.
Why? Becuase the spring is a season that is naturally focused on two things: detoxifying our bodies of all the heavy foods we ate during the cold months and restimulationg our bodies’ natural ability to burn all that fat we stored for winter. Here are some awesome supplementary tips to start boosting your body's natural cleansing abilities and give it that rejuvination its dying for:
Incorporate bitter roots into your diet to clean out all that stored mucus on the intestines and sinuses. We love sprinkling farm fresh salads with dandelion roots, rhubarb, and radish.
Help promote the fertilization of good bacteria in your colon by eating seasonal leafy greens and sprouts. A healthy colon will help escort everything out in a more timely fashion ;).
Detoxify the lymphatic system with berries, cherries, and cranberries. The lymphatic system is responsible for handling all of the toxins that come from both external (from food, air, etc.) and internal (from metabolic processes) sources, in addition to taking all of the junk away from our tissues and neutralizing it.
