We want to let you in on a little secret that isn't so little.
When we first moved to NYC, we struggled. Growing up in Sedona, healthy eating was a way of life and we had established a very strong foundation for filling our diets with clean, whole, nutrient-dense foods that we knew would keep us balanced and energized. Fast forward to 2009 and we’re running around NYC like it's our own personal playground, trying to fuel our lives with the healthy diets we had mastered over the years. We’d nourish with fibrous whole grain cereals, ezeikial toast with organic almond butter, franchised salad bars mixtures, and exotic trail mixes. Yet each day our hunger levels felt out of control, our skin visibly inflamed, our weights yo-yoing. We felt heavy, unhappy, and as though we were constantly in battle with our own bodies. Not the glamorous NYC lives we knew we could have.
So we stepped back from our fast-paced lives, took some honest looks in the mirrors and dug deeper into what wasn't working and what was. The answer was pretty obvious and stemmed from the fact that everything we were eating, from the whole grain cereals to the salad bar veggies, was dehydrated and dead.
Drinking water is important for cleansing the body as it moves things out of your system, but EATING water is essential for hydrating your organs (hello #sakaraGLOW) and keeping them at their optimal function. Research shows that eating foods that are full of water helps keep you satisfied longer, while also fueling your system with important nutrients like anthocyanins, melatonin, vitamin c, electrolyes, potassium, and various forms of insanely beautifying anitoxidants. These nutrients help the body do everything from repairing muscle and skin, to regulating circulation, to reducing inflammation, to fighting disease. Long story short: they keep you lean, sexy, and full of light.
What else were we missing from mother nature's beautiful bounty? Life energy.
Clean, fresh, organic plants provide a natural source of minerals, enzymes, vitamins, and phytonutrients that are ESSENTIAL for keeping the integrity of your body sound. Regardless of whether you are a carnivore, vegetarian, raw foodie, paleo warrior, etc. you have got to eat organic, fresh, pure ALIVE plants, made with so very much LOVE that you can feel it each and every day.
