Every five years the U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Agriculture (USDA) is responsible for updating the nation’s dietary guidelines. How in the world of science, research, and political ties to some farming industries and not others do they create these guidelines? With the help of an advisory committee made up of top nutrition experts who release yearly updates on the "latest and greatest in food and nutrition research." These guidelines influence everything from food assistance funding to what the military is fed to what kids are taught in schools about nutrition. There are five of them, and we are proud to say that they are all in line with the Sakara Life. Here's a peek: "Eggs and coffee are in, sugar is out and vegetables will always be good for you,".
