Before you use your candle, trim the wick to about ⅛ inch above the wax to help your candle burn more efficiently and avoid excess soot.
When you light your candle for the first time, allow it to burn until the entire surface of wax has melted to prevent tunneling and memory rings.
Burn your candle for no more than about four hours at a time. Once your candle has only about ½ inch of wax left in the vessel, it’s time to retire it, clean out the wax, and add the vessel to your collection of drinking glasses.
