S-Life Approved: Clean Beauty Product Roundup

When the ingredient list on your skincare products reads like a Sakara meal label, that’s a good thing. The clean-product experts at Credo Beauty don’t sell anything that’s not made entirely out of non-toxic ingredients, sustainably sourced and produced, and, of course, effective. So we looked to them when we wanted to curate the perfect collection of all-natural self-care products (some of which you may have received if you’re participating in this week’s Eat Pretty program). Want clean, safe, powerful skincare that’s (almost) good enough to eat? Read on to learn about our faves.

Skin Owl Eye+

Sakara-worthy ingredients: Cucumber, MSM

This brightening, moisturizing, anti-aging product combines cucumber and aloe to soothe the delicate eye area and MSM, one of our favorite beautifying minerals, to smooth fine lines.

Kahina Giving Beauty Argan Oil

Sakara-worthy ingredients: Pure argan oil

Pure, simple and unadulterated—it’s how we like our food and our skincare products, whenever possible. Argan oil is a popular cosmetic ingredient with good reason; it’s deeply moisturizing (yet still quick-absorbing) thanks to its essential fatty acid content and contains Vitamin E to fend off free radical damage. Why mess with a good thing?

Suntegrity 5-in-1 Tinted Moisturizing Face Sunscreen

Sakara-worthy ingredients: Cucumber, chlorella, pomegranate

While definitely a safe skincare essential, sunscreens are unfortunately often spiked with potentially toxic chemicals. Not this one—the Environmental Working Group gave it top marks. Plus, the ingredient list sounds genuinely delicious: cucumber, pomegranate, sunflower seed oil and red algae to hydrate and protect.

Evolvh SmartVolume Leave-In Conditioner and SmartStart Leave-In Conditioner

Sakara-worthy ingredients: Rice bran, flax, grapefruit

Who knew flaxseed, one of our favorite plant-based protein/omega sources, could also pump up your hair’s volume? This duo also contains a blend of botanical oils, like lavender, bergamot, thyme, lemongrass, grapeseed and cranberry seed, to fend off heat damage, strengthen strands and gently detangle. Don’t even think about picking up a hairdryer without it.

W3LL PEOPLE Expressionist Mascara

Sakara-worthy ingredients: Carnauba wax, sunflower seed oil, vanilla

Finding the perfect mascara, let alone one made with clean ingredients, can feel like an impossible quest. Well, feast your eyes on a natural cosmetic product that really works. No stiff, spidery lashes in sight—this stuff is made with emollient carnauba wax and sunflower seed oil. And unlike many of its kind, it’s 100% cruelty-free and free of any potential eye irritants.

Dr. Jackson’s Coconut Melt

Sakara-worthy ingredients: Pure coconut oil

Seriously, what can’t coconut oil do? This multitasking superfood has gained a stellar reputation in the wellness world for the wonders it can do both inside the body and out, and this 100% organic version is no exception. Dry lips, ragged cuticles, split ends…see ya.

CV Skin Labs Calming Moisturizer for Face, Neck and Scalp and Restorative Skin Balm

Sakara-worthy ingredients: Oat extract, mushroom, turmeric, almond oil, ginger

You know how turmeric works wonders for inflammation inside your body? It does the same for your complexion—which is probably why CV Skinlabs includes this Ayurvedic superherb in its proprietary tri-rescue complex, found in both of these deeply hydrating products. There’s also calming oat extract and healing reishi mushroom to soothe, protect and heal.

YUNI Instant Shower Sheets

Sakara-worthy ingredients: Citrus, peppermint, cucumber, chamomile

On our busiest days, it’s not our sweaty AM workout that falls to the wayside…it’s the post-workout shower. (You too? No judgment.) Enter these ingenious wipes: luxuriously thick, oversized enough to cover your whole bod, infused with refreshing peppermint oil, totally biodegradable AND completely compostable. Here at Sakara HQ, we’ve discovered they’re particularly ideal for wiping down after a mid-day sauna sesh.

Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser

Sakara-worthy ingredients: Strawberry oil, coconut oil, sunflower oil

It’s no wonder Credo Beauty counts this cure-all cleanser among its top sellers. Formulated with fruit oils, wheat proteins and other naturally sourced ingredients, it does away with pore-clogging debris, hydrates and whips pores into shape.

Innersense Sweet Spirit Leave-In Conditioner

Sakara-worthy ingredients: Honey, wheatgrass, rosemary

Working with day 3 hair? Been there. This fragrant spritz will give new life to an ancient blowout, thanks to refreshing ingredients like orange blossom and echinacea flower essence. Plus, many of the ingredients are grown biodynamically—so cool!

Kypris Clearing Serum

Sakara-worthy ingredients: Quinoa seed oil, green tea, radish root

We love quinoa on our dinner plates and in our beauty products. This serum contains quinoa seed oil, a rich source of nourishing Vit E and healing zinc. Interestingly, it also contains antimicrobial radish root ferment filtrate, an all-natural alternative to parabens and other common preservatives.

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Booster Serum

Sakara-worthy ingredients: Apple, lemon, Vits C, E and B5

They say an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, right? Between skin-plumping fatty acids (in the form of organic evening primrose oil) and cell-protecting antioxidants (from pure Vit C), this serum has your anti-aging needs covered.

Red Flower Lymphatic Phytopower Sea Cleanser and Masque

Sakara-worthy ingredients: Reishi, chaga and maitake mushrooms

Mushrooms have been renowned in the traditional wellness world for centuries, and rightfully so—they’re healing, cleansing and practically life-giving. So it makes sense that Red Flower chose a trio of ‘shrooms (reishi, chaga and maitake) for this powerful cleanser/masque hybrid. As if it hadn’t already won our plant-based hearts, this multitasking product also contains vitamin-rich, nourishing algae to balance and nourish the skin.
