Trick your friends into thinking you're a master mixologist (while also sneaking in a superfood or two) with these simple, fruit-inspired cocktails.
DRUNK IN LUV
INGREDIENTS: 1 cup of fresh watermelon juice, a few pieces of cubed watermelon, 1 shot of rum, ice, and a few pieces of fresh mint
DIRECTIONS: Place cubed watermelon at bottom of glass, rip up some mint and put on top of watermelon cubes, add ice to glass. Mix watermelon juice and rum together then pour over ice.
THE FRENCH 69
INGREDIENTS: 1 part vodka, 1/2 part of St. Germain, muddled mint, prosecco
DIRECTIONS: Add vodka, St. Germain, muddled mint and ice to a shaker and shake well. Add mixture to the sexiest, most french looking glass you own. Pour and top with bubbly prosecco.
CELERY WITH A TWIST
INGREDIENTS: Fresh lime juice, celery bitters, 1 stalk of celery, 1 shot of vodka, and club soda
DIRECTIONS: Using a cocktail mixer, shake together the fresh lime juice, celery bitters, vodka, and ice. Pour into your favorite glass, top with club soda and garnish with a stalk of celery and lime wedge.
THE BOOZY SALAD
INGREDIENTS: 1 shot of gin, lemon zest, lime juice, club soda, a dash of pure agave and 8-10 arugula leaves taken from your Sakara meal.
DIRECTIONS: Muddle arugula with agave and lime juice in a shaker. Then, add ice and gin & shake, shake, shake. Strain over ice and add club soda.
THE CLASSIC TEQUILA
INGREDIENTS: 2-3 fresh squeezed oranges, 2-3 fresh squeezed grapefruits, 1 shot of tequila, ice and a dash of lime zest
DIRECTIONS: Mix fresh-squeezed orange juice, grapefruit juice, and tequila. Add ice, sliced orange and grapefruit to glass, pour in the mixture, and garnish with as much lime zest as desired. Add lime for garnish and a squeeze.
THE SUNSET AURA
INGREDIENTS: 4 ounces of rosé, 4 oz. fresh-squeezed orange juice, 1 shot of bourbon, orange slice
DIRECTIONS: Fill glass with ice. In this order add bourbon, rosé and orange juice and watch the sun set in your glass.
GIN + BASIL TONIC
INGREDIENTS: Blackberries, skinned cucumber cut into small pieces, fresh basil, club soda, and Hendricks gin
DIRECTIONS: Muddle blackberries, cucumbers, and basil in glass. Add gin and club soda. Garnish with basil leaf and a few whole raspberries for final flourish.
THE DIRTY LEMONADE
INGREDIENTS: Vodka, organic lemonade, muddled raspberries + blackberries, and fresh mint
DIRECTIONS: Mix 1 part vodka to 3 parts lemonade. Muddle the berries and mint, and place into the bottom of a glass, then add ice if desired. Pour in lemonade, and garnish with one fresh mint leaf.
THE TROP 59
INGREDIENTS: 1 shot of vodka pineapple juice, a splash of coconut water ice, and 2 limes (1 for juice and 1 for slices)
DIRECTIONS: Mix vodka, coconut water, pineapple juice, and juice of a whole lime. Pour over ice and lime slices and welcome to the tropics.
THE CAPTAIN RON
INGREDIENTS: Rum, guava nectar, fresh grapefruit juice, light beer, lime
DIRECTIONS: Combine all ingredients, except beer into a glass filled with ice. Top with beer and stir. Add a lime wheel for good luck.
