Are you ready for TRUTH?

Spirit is With You.

In Celtic tradition, Nov. 1st marks the first day of the year and the beginning of winter (hello, brand spanking new goals!). Celebrated with the festival of Samhein (pronounced SAH-WIN), cattle and sheep are moved to closer pastures, livestock are secured, crops are harvested and stored, and we prepare for a season of community, conserved energy, and strong internal fires.

Our modern celebration of Halloween descends directly from this ancient festival. Celebrated with a night of uninhibited feasting, dancing, and celebration, it is believed that on this night, the veil between this world and other worlds is very thin, allowing for divine spirits, spirits of the dead, and mortal spirits to move and mingle freely. This creates a period of time when enlightenment from higher spirits is most clearly communicated, the future is most easily predicted, and self-discoveries are prominent. Both an ending and a beginning in one eternal cycle, on this night we honor an elevated level of awareness by releasing all of the stories we tell ourselves and, instead, listening to the truth.

Your celebration of Halloween will look a little different from our celtic ancestors, but regardless of whether it involves joyous feasting, decadent costumes, or direct contact with other worlds (fingers crossed on all three!), know that this spirit is with you. Hold this intention of letting go close to you as we enter the celtic new year. Just as the trees release their leaves, you, too, have the opportunity to release all of the thoughts, beliefs, fears, people, and things that do not serve you in order to more closely align yourself with your inner truth. And know that, as you let go, you are surrounded by the strongest, most loving, supportive, and nurturing community in the world - a community that promises to hold, protect, and keep you warm all winter long.

Happy Samhein, Sakaralites!

May you soak up every ounce of this unique spirit.
