When you travel as often as German aesthetics doctor Barbara Sturm, daily rituals can become a grounding force. So it’s no wonder Sturm, the founder and CEO of Dr. Barbara Sturm Molecular Cosmetics, eats the same breakfast most mornings—a traditional Swiss-style muesli with a few health-conscious updates care of modern nutrition science.
The anti-inflammatory prowess of this bowl comes in the form of almonds, oats, apple, and coconut yogurt, which offer a gut-healing combination of healthy fats, fiber, and probiotics. “It’s always been my favorite breakfast of all time,” Sturm says, recounting that her mother used to make it for her as a child, and that now she does the same for her own kids. “It powers you through the day.”
Best of all, you don’t need a doctor’s precision to make this recipe—just eyeball it, as Sturm does. (For perfectionists, we’ve provided measurements below.) While you can make do without a measuring cup, note that this recipe does require a bit of forethought; the oats, almonds, raisins, and cinnamon need to soak in the oat milk overnight. Mix it up, store it in the fridge, and follow one of Dr. Sturm’s most important pieces of beauty advice: go get some sleep. When you rise, add the remaining ingredients.
